Common Questions
If you're just looking for peace of mind that everything is OK - you're smart. Early detection without symptoms gives you the best chance to protect yourself and others. Go for the Just Checking In package.
If you are reasonably active and looking for something a little more comprehensive, we recommend an annual checkup with the Annual All-Good, which offers additional tests for Hepatitis B and C, as well as Human Papillomavirus (HPV), making it ideal for sexually active individuals or those with higher risk exposure.
If you have some symptoms (pain during urination and/or sex, itching, unusual discharge, abdominal/testicular pain etc.), have multiple partners and a higher risk of exposure, Smart to be Safe is for you.
The most comprehensive package, "Full Suite," covers a wide range of STIs, including Mycoplasma hominis and Candida species. This package is perfect for those seeking the most thorough screening possible, providing extensive peace of mind.
Every test is sent to our partner labs for analysis. Our labs are fully accredited to give you assurance that results are as accurate as possible.
Depending on the package and/or tests you have selected, most results will be returned with 24 hours. Some tests come within a couple of hours, but others require several days to be cultured. You can elect to receive your results either by WhatsApp or by email.
If you have tested positive, don't worry - it happens more than you think. We will offer guidance on next steps.
There is a different incubation period for each STD/STI. Some appear within days, however some can take up to 6 months to appear. It is important to consider this when testing.
If you have a number of different partners, we recommend regular testing every 3-6 months. If you have engaged in unprotected sex or if you've been exposed to a known infected partner, we recommend following incubation periods for accurate testing. We can provide guidance and isolate specific, regular testing for a specific pathogen for your peace of mind.
